Larnaca has so much to offer, come experience it for yourself

Larnaca City

Often characterized by its eye-catching seaside promenade lined with graceful palm trees that frame the entrances of dozens of bustling modem cafes and eateries.

Larnaka has so much to offer. Stroll deep into the winding backstreets built over the ancient city of  Kition and you will discover local craft shops making their way down to St. Lazarus  Church, one of the finest examples of  Byzantine architecture in Cyprus.

Ask a local about the absolute highlight of the town and they are more than likely to point you in the direction of the splendid salt lake, home to nearly 80 migratory birds, with the famed pink Flamingos flocking to the area between February and April.

Finiokoudes Beach Larnaca, Cyprus

Finikoudes Beach

One of the most famous beaches in Cyrus, Finikoudes is named after its famous Palm Trees, planted in 1922. The heart of Larnaca lies just behind. The beach has Blue Flag status and has amenities such as sun beds, showers, changing facilities and a life guard.

Kamares Aquaduct

Built in 1747, the Kamares Aqueduct was once the main source of water for the ancient Larnaca City. It is considered one of the historically important monuments constructed during the Cyprus’ Ottoman period. Consisting of a total of 75 arches, it was still in use as recently as 1939.

Saint Lazarus Church

A 9th century church in the centre of Larnaca, St Lazarus draws its fame from the story of ‘Lazarus of Bethany’, who was raised from the dead. He lived for 30 more years and was buried on the site of the church as his second (and, so far, final) resting place. You can enter the church and see his stone tomb.

Kimonas Statue

‘Kimonas the Athenian’ was a general and politician in the 5th century BC. He died during a campaign to liberate Cyprus from the Persians in 449 BC. The statue commemorates his services to Cyprus and the Hellenic cause.

Hala Sultan Tekke

Set on the west bank of Larnaca Salt Lake, the mosque is considered one of the most important places of pilgrimage in Islam. The mosque complex is open to visitors all year round and sits in beautiful gardens over-looking the Salt Lake.

What our guests say about us

My family and I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Opera. It’s such a lovely small hotel, with excellent views of the church - and it’s just a stone’s throw from the beach!

Jessica, United KingdomBooking.com

Stayed in a lovely Studio in the Operette House with cute interior and a nice balcony with view on the church. Convenient parking and comfortable bed! Will come again. Great location, too.

David, Köln, GermanyExpedia

We stayed at the hotel for two days. The room was quite big, nicely decorated and with a small terrace. The location is 3 minutes walk from the boardwalk, by the sea. The staff were very very nice - helpful, generous and flexible. Free coffee, fruits and drinks 24. If you stay in Larnaca, you should definitely stay at Opera hotel.
